I've been away on a whirlwind vacation to Hawaii. A sudden unplanned trip to celebrate 10 years of marriage - well actually almost 10! This trip was a little earlier(about a month), but something that my wonderful parents wanted us to do. Go see some place without having to worry about the kids! The grandparents babysat while we took off. It was a hectic but wonderful trip, though we really missed the kids. Here are some pictures from our trip...

Aloha airlines monthly magazine - since this is a food blog, i thought i should start with this :-)

Hawaiian food concentrates more on Seafood and Pork. Though Hawaii is a blend of Japanese, Korean, Chinese, American and native Hawaiian cuisines!

Hanauma Bay in Oahu. Formed many 1000 years ago, when the rising of sea level filled a crater and eventually reefs starting forming. The reefs and sea life is still very young here, but beautiful nevertheless.

Pretty flowers! Tropical climate and its gift of colorful flora!

A carved Totem Pole.

A free tour shuttle - that shuttles visitors around the city of Honolulu.

Pretty white flowers.

The Byodo-In Japanese Temple in Oahu. Surrounded by mountains, this place is very serene and soothing.

Can you tell the boundary between the Pacific Ocean and the Blue Sky?

An Artist at work. Elaine, who became a fast friend, painting the pond right in front of her.

The island of Kaui - a Map.

A Hula performance at a Luau - a Hawaiian Tradition.

Mai Tai - A traditional Hawaiian drink.

Na Pali Coast - In Kaui. Not accessible by land. Beautiful beyond description. A shot from the Helicopter.

And finally, us and the ocean!
Hope you guys enjoyed this virtual journey to the beautiful islands of Hawaii!
